The Fundamentals of Us
Move with Confidence.
At Fundamentals Rehab & Performance, we’re committed to helping you take control of your health and feel your best—every step of the way.
Rehabilitation is just the starting point. We create personalised plans tailored to your goals, equipping you with the tools, education, and ongoing support needed to prevent injury and/or manage chronic conditions for the long term. Our goal is to help you move better, feel stronger, and live a more empowered, active life.
Meet Laura
-
Meet accredited ESSA (Exercise and Sports Science Australia) practitioner, Laura.
Laura is an accredited Exercise Physiologist with a strong background in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, particularly in lower back and shoulder conditions. Since graduating from James Cook University in 2018, she has continued to expand her knowledge through ongoing professional development across a wide range of areas—from mental health to chronic disease management.
With experience in a variety of healthcare settings, Laura has found her true passion in helping clients regain confidence through pain-free movement. She’s committed to guiding every client toward improved function and strength, empowering them to take control of their health and move without fear of re-injury.
While her core focus is rehabilitation, Laura also supports those working toward performance and fitness goals. Her sessions are equal parts educational and engaging—she takes pride in helping clients understand the ‘why’ behind their exercise plans and how proper technique leads to long-term results.
Laura brings a fun, approachable energy to every session. She’s results-driven but keeps things light, so you never feel intimidated—just motivated to keep coming back.
Meet Emily
-
Meet accredited ESSA (Exercise and Sports Science Australia) practitioner, Emily.
Emily is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist originally from Townsville, Queensland. From a young age, she developed a strong passion for health and movement through her involvement in a wide range of sports, which led her to pursue a career in exercise physiology where she can combine her interest in performance with a genuine desire to help others.
Since 2021, she has gained experience working across both clinic and mobile settings, allowing her to grow significantly as both a person and a professional. This experience has shaped her adaptable, client-centred approach to care.
Her approach focuses on creating personalised exercise programs tailored to each individual’s needs, with a strong focus on education, long-term outcomes, and empowering clients to take ownership of their health. Whether returning from injury, managing a chronic condition, or aiming to improve performance, she is committed to supporting clients every step of the way. Emily also has a specific interest within the management and treatment of persistent pain.
Outside of the clinic, Emily maintains an active lifestyle competing in the QAFLW, which continues to influence her approach to rehabilitation and performance.
